Rudbeckia hirta 'Marmalade' Seeds

A short-lived, half-hardy perennial, often grown as an annual. This cone flower performs brilliantly in a sunny border, but can be grown in large pots too. The flowers will attract bees and butterflies from all around, and also make excellent cut flowers.

Feb-Apr, sow indoors 5mm deep in moist seed compost. Propagate at 15-20°C until germination. Transplant seedlings into individual pots, handling by the leaves rather than the stem. Aftercare:
Protect young plants from frosts. Regular dead heading of spent flowers will encourage flowering. For cut flowers, pick when bud is starting to show colour.
