  • Further Information
Latin Name: Mentha spicata
Plant Type: Perennial
Height: 30cm
Spread: 1m
Sowing/Flowering Info:
Sow under cover Feb-July. Surface sow on moist seed compost. Cover seed with a sprinkling of soil, as light is required for germination. Propagate 18-20°C. Once large enough to handle, transplant seedlings to pots. Acclimatise and plant out once danger of frost has passed. Mint is an invasive plant, so its growth should be restricted by growing in a pot or container to limit spread.
Aftercare:
Lift, divide and re-pot every 2 years. Cut back hard after flowering. Keep well-watered in dry weather
