Growing Info: Seeds need to be exposed to winter cold to germinate, so easiest sown directly where they are to grow Sep-Nov for germination the following spring. Sow seeds 6mm deep in drills 30cm apart, into soil which has been raked to a fine tilth. Keep well-watered and thin out to 50cm between plants. Sow under cover Feb-May, 2mm deep into moist seed compost. When seedlings are large enough, transplant into pots and acclimatise before planting out into final growing locations. Prefers alkaline soils. |
