As the name Water Avens suggests, this plant prefers a damp environment and can often be found along riversides. It is very attractive to pollinators such as dragonflies and bees. The feathery seedheads following on from the flowers also adds to the interest later in the season.

Growing Info:
Seeds are best sown outside Sep-Nov either where they are to flower or in seed trays. Covered lightly with soil and the seeds will germinate after Winter the following Spring. Alternatively cold stratify the seeds in early Spring for 2-4 weeks and sow in Mar-May. Seeds will germinate at 20°C, transplant the seedlings to individual pots when large enough to handle. Plant out in their final position 15cm apart.
Aftercare:
Deadhead to encourage continued flowering, ensure plants don't dry out.
