Create clouds of flowers with this well-known hardy annual. This variety offers a simpler flower form than the frilly and heavily-doubled Gypsophila synonymous with florists. At home in a cottage garden scheme, try it also in prairie-style plantings where its masses of white flowers blend well with billowing grasses. Makes an excellent cut flower.

Growing Info:
Sow under cover in Feb-Mar or outside in Mar-Jun. Surface sow into prepared soil, raked to a fine tilth. Ensure seeds are barely covered with soil. Either transplant seedlings when large enough, or thin to 40-50cm apart. Pinch out the tips of the plants to encourage a bushy habit and more flowers.
Aftercare:
Do not fertilise as this may promote plant growth rather than heavy flowering. To keep flowers coming, cut flower stems regularly for the vase. Will self seed freely.
