Tropaeolum 'Salmon Baby' (Nasturtium) Seeds

Tropaeolum 'Salmon Baby' (Nasturtium) Seeds

Often grown in vegetable gardens as companion plants. The blooms draw in beneficial insects while the aromatic foliage can deter pests. Both the leaves and flowers are edible and can be used in salads. Nasturtiums also perform well in pots and as ground cover towards the front of borders.

Common Name: Nasturtium
Plant Type: Half-Hardy Annual
Position: Full Sun
Height: 30cm
Spread: 90cm
Growing Info:
Best sown directly March-June. Finely rake and water soil before sowing 1.5-2cm deep. Thin seedlings out to 30cm apart when large enough to handle. Keep watered until established. Can also be sown indoors Feb-May in individual pots of seed compost. Gradually acclimatise before planting out when risk of frost has passed.
Aftercare:
Keep well-watered. Nasturtiums prefer poorer soil. Regular fertilising will result in increased foliage growth at the expense of flowers.
